“Vin?” Elly asked. “Where are you taking us?” “Somewhere that just might convince you.” He told us. We kept running. This was getting ridiculous, where could he take us that would convince us that a ton of kids could defeat an evil fire lord that might’ve been planning to bring back an even more evil fire lord. We ran through a few halls, and went down at least ten staircases. Then finally, he stopped. “We’re here.” I looked at where we were. It looked like a big cave, but it had banners on the walls. Four of them. One green, blue, red, and white. The red banner was ripped in half, the other half was on the ground. I looked up. I saw a statue. It was a man, built for war. He had a skull mask. No, it couldn't have been. But it was. “What is this?” Willow asked. “Temynyon.” I said. “How did you know?” Calvin asked. “I…” I didn’t know if I should tell them. I didn’t know why, but I just didn’t want to tell them, but when I saw the look on Willow, and Eleanore’s face, I knew I had to. “I saw it in a dream.” “Really?” Calvin asked. “Is…is that bad?” “Kind of.” “Why?” Willow asked. “I mean, I know it’s weird, but over the past few weeks, we have seen weirder.” “Because all the guardians are dead.” “And only an element would be able to know what he looked like.” He nodded. “So, that means Harold sent her a dream?” Elly asked. “How could he do that, that’s not his U.P.” “There’s an artifact made by the water village before Mundlemento. It has the ability to send messages in any form.” “But,” I said. “Why would he want me to know what Temynyon looked like?” “To scare you.” He said. “He doesn’t want you to get in the way.” “So he wants us to go home?” “Yes, but he also wants to make you into his personal army.” “Great!” I said. “An evil fire lord who has given us no options wants an army of super humans.” “How was this supposed to convince us that we need to be what we’re not?”Elly asked. “Because, there's a story to this.” “And what is that story?” “Well,” He closed his eyes. “A long time ago, there was a man, and his name was-” “Temynyon. Yeah, I think we got that.” Mason said. “Can we get to the point?” “He was just an ordinary kid. He had fire powers, and his U.P. was the ability to create wood, or anything you could use to make something.” “What?” I asked, a little louder than I had meant to. “Are you telling me you could create something from nothing?” I asked. He nodded. “But how is that possible?” He shrugged. “Temynyon was always one of the stronger ones in the fire village, he had a power that seemed impossible, he was the most skilled warrior, blacksmith-” “So, he was pretty much the jack of all trades?” “Exactly!” He snapped his fingers. “So when their most valuable artifact, the fire gem, was stolen, of course they sent him.” I nodded, twisting my hair, thinking. “He narrowed down all the villages to the water village. He found the girl who had stolen the gem. She begged for forgiveness. He felt pity on her, and put his sword down. That wasn’t a good idea. The girl took his sword, and cut him.” “Where?” I asked. “No one knows exactly, but it was on his face.” “That’s why he wears that mask.” I said. “Yep.” He said, pointing at me. “That moment, he realized no element could be trusted, not even fire, so he created his own element.” “Dark fire.” Elly said, staring at the statue. He nodded. “He called it dark fire because it could burn through anything, but fire was also his original element.” “And that’s how the fire lord came to be.” Mason said. He nodded. “Look, the only reason I’m telling you this is because, evil isn’t born, it’s made, just like a hero. More and more people will join Harold unless you stop him, and you may not have been born a hero, but I can make you one.” No one said anything. “You in?” There was a long silence, before Mason stepped forward. “I’m in.” He pulled out his locket. “It’s the right thing to do.” Elly stepped forward.”I’m in too.” “Me three.” James said, stepping forward. Only me and Willow were left. I stepped forward. “I’m in.” I looked back at Willow, she looked sad, and scared, and her eyes welling up. I felt my eyes welling up. I put my hand up, offering it to her. “You in?” A tear fell from her eye, and she put her hand in mine. “I’m in.”
