In the halls of sixth grade so fine, I met an old friend named Jeffrey, divine. His eyes lit up, a true delight to see, As we laughed and reminisced, so carefree. Then along came Luke, with a scowl on his face, But we brought him into our warm embrace. His teasing may have caused a fuss, Yet deep down, he was one of us. Verun, oh Verun, a jester indeed, His jokes and pranks, pure mischief he'd feed. But in times of need, he'd fiercely defend, A loyal companion until the very end. At lunch, the banter never ceased, With Luke's boasts, our patience increased. Mason's temper wouldn't be swayed, And yet, together, memories were made. The races at the bus stop were a sight, My sister and I, sprinting with all our might. The bus kids cheering, a joyful crowd, As summer days passed, carefree and proud. But as the final day drew near, Goodbyes whispered with a tinge of fear. At my bus stop, we bid farewell, Though our hearts in sadness did swell. Verun with a grin, his final word, "Even though I hate you, you're my nerd." Luke's parting jest, typically bold, "Mason, I got money, you'll never be gold." Jeffrey's eyes held a hint of sorrow, "Missing Mason's laugh, the world's now hollow." And as I moved away, the memories remained, Of the three friends who forever, in my heart, were ingrained. Though distance now keeps us apart, The song of my sixth-grade heart, a cherished art. In the melody of friendship's tune, The memories of Jeffrey, Luke, and Verun forever strewn.
this poem is about my 6th grade year and my 2 best friends we truly changed the world.
