After 2 hours, a ball dance happened in the evening. Starlight was watching the guests since she obviously was the one who planned the entire event. Of course, Chancellor was there beside her. The two were holding hands and just enjoying the happy energy that the outside air provided for the ball dance. Though, what caught her eye was that both of her parents weren't anywhere to be seen. It made her a tad bit worried for them so she decided to go look for them. Chancellor had to follow her so she wouldn't end up hurt, if her parents were in a risky-like area. She went inside of the castle and noticed that a guest room door was cracked open. There was even some talking to be heard coming from the room. Starlight and Chancellor silently got closer and decided to listen in the conversation. "Nova, you and I know that being back together is a very low chance for us. Besides, you just came to your understanding about what disturbing deeds you've done." Sundown Shadow argued with his serious tone, "Oh please spare me from the drudgery of my villainy. Darling, the only way I could fix one mistake I've caused onto you is asking for a second chance. And not to mention, you witnessed my friendly side just a few minutes ago so you should know how I could treat you." Nova X replied, sounding pitiful. Sundown Shadow sighed, shaking his head in return to her point. He could see how desperate she was in trying to fix their relationship but he didn't feel the same way. "Listen, the false statements you said to me while we were together harmed me enough. You never really loved me nor meant any of those vows you promised at our marriage. Our romance has been through a very long time ago, Nova. Please just get that through your head. You're intelligent enough to do that." Sundown Shadow crossed his arms, looking away from Nova X. He could tell that she'll be very disappointed about the truth he just said to her. In that response, Nova X felt emotional but she held it back since she understood where he was coming from. She was so evil towards him and it wasn't okay for him. Even having to end the relationship so suddenly and having to disrespect him AND their daughter. She knew it was very wrong and she wished to fix it but she couldn't convince Sundown Shadow to think the same. "Nova, I'm only comfortable with being friends with you. I have known that you carry the best tea besides Veronica." "Pfft, Veronica tells gossip stories that are pure lies. That's what Oliver tells me. It would make sense though, Veronica and Oliver are strong rivals that hate each other's guts. It makes me wanna tell Cornelius to put a watchful eye on her." Nova X smiled at Sundown Shadow, seeming to be fine with being just friends. Sundown Shadow and Nova X then got out of the room and saw Starlight and Chancellor. They became shocked to see them by the door, listening to their argument. "S-Starlight! How long have you been by the door?! W-What have you heard?" Sundown Shadow stuttered. Nova X obviously looked way too surprised by the situation. "I've only heard the part where you two agreed to be friends." Starlight answered innocently. Chancellor looked at Starlight and back at Sundown Shadow. Sundown Shadow turned his head and his eyes sat upon Chancellor's eyes. "Is this true? You're Imposter Shadow's son so I know you might not lie." Sundown Shadow asked, looking at Chancellor deeply and seriously. "Yeah, we only heard that bit." Chancellor answered, being a bit defensive since Sundown Shadow was sort of scaring him because of how serious his gaze was on him. "Hmph, good. You two should head back into the gardens. You never know that you two would join in the fun of the ball dance." Sundown Shadow suggested to the two, pulling up his mouth mask to hide his fangs. He even placed his white cloak and heavy sword holder back on to continue scouting the perimeters of the palace in case danger was lurking nearby. From that, Sundown Shadow walked away from everyone, leaving Nova X, Starlight and Chancellor there. "Mother, what really happened between you two?" Starlight asked softly, looking at Nova X with curiosity. "I made mistakes for Sundown Shadow. He didn't accept that I promised to be better. But I can't blame him, it's better to be friends than total enemies forever." Nova X grinned at Starlight, gently holding her cheek to reassure her. "Thanks Mother, I knew you could be yourself again." Starlight smiled back at Nova X. "No, thank you, darling. You are my little wishing star so I would want to start being a dedicated mother. For the time being, you got a young man next to you. He looks like he's been waiting to dance with you at the ball dance outside." Nova X winked at Starlight, addressing Chancellor to her and then walked away without another word. Starlight looked over at Chancellor with a small blush. But either way, they agreed to spend time with each other at the ball dance and be teenagers just in love with one another.
