Amur Leopard Blockshade Common Name: Amur/far Eastern leopard Scientific Name: Panthera pardus orientalis Conservation Status: Critically endangered General Info: Amur leopards are relatively small in comparison to other leopards; maxing out at 54 inches for males. They live in southeastern Russia, northeastern China, and maybe even in North Korea. Because of their frigid and sometimes snowy habitat, amur leopards have evolved to have thick, warm fur that tends to become a lighter shade in the winter, intended to camouflage in with the snow.
