Sorry it's been so long, but real life calls me, and it's time for me to leave Scratch and move on to real programming! -------- If you want the full story, read below -------- It all started in elementary school, in 4th grade. We had an assignment on this new website called Scratch! It was super easy to learn, and I quickly got the hang of it. I made art, games, and all that stuff. I was probably the best in my class for that assignment. It was so fun, I decided to keep doing stuff on Scratch. By 5th grade though, I forgot about Scratch and focused on my homework. 2-3 years passed by, and I was in middle school when I was reminded of Scratch while seeing someone else using it. Now that I was in 7th or 8th grade, I had way more competence to make big projects. Very quickly, I got back into the rhythm and remembered how to use Scratch. Within about half a year, I was already super good at making projects, with one of my first projects being a portal simulation. Despite my hard work and effort, I rarely got any views or attention. That didn't stop me, though. I was motivated to make projects even if only a handful of people saw them. However, one year I eventually was losing motivation, and I was wondering if I should just stop using Scratch. What made that year worse was the fact that I was slowly going insane from perfectionism because of school. I couldn't settle for anything but the absolute best, and it drained me down to nothing. I felt like I was a robot, with no life, soul, or purpose. I was really depressed and sad... I tried one last time, and went to a studio called #UnderratedSupport where underrated projects are brought the light of day. As fate would have it, something awesome happened. Josh_Dragon, the owner of the group, was super impressed by my projects! So impressed that I apparently got special treatment! My profile was announced to the whole studio as a comment by Josh! By the way, I was totally unaware of what happened, and when I opened Scratch up the next day, I got a TON of mail, probably 100x my daily mail count. However, that wasn't even the best part. A scratcher named AtomicMagicNumber (a very popular scratcher) commented and helped me out even more on becoming popular! I think he also promoted my profile too. My head was still processing what was happening. However, I finally had the motivation to make more projects! My next project got over 6,000 views! And the one after got over 20K VIEWS! I got 100s of mail EVERY DAY! I also started seeing a therapist about my perfectionism and life was slowly getting back to normal! The Covid pandemic had also ended, too! However, since I was a highschool junior, I needed to focus more on my real life and goals. Despite all the fame I was currently getting, I decided to take a break. As of writing this, I am towards the end of my senior year at highschool, and it's almost time for me to be an adult. To be honest, if it weren't for Josh and AtomicMagicNumber, my life would probably be totally different from now. I would probably still be a depressed loser and unmotivated to do anything. Thank you two for making my entire future brighter! ----- Future Plans ----- I plan on coding my own, real video game in an actual programming language soon. Once it's finished, I'll come back here one last time and tell you guys all about it! Perhaps you can buy it on Steam or something! If you want this project to get popular, remixing and loving is a great way to do that! -------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you all for the support, and... ...so long, guys!
