Cupid’s Daughter “Charlie, Charlie, Charlie. What am I to do with you?” Sixteen years later “Charlie! You’re gonna be late for school!” Delila called from the bottom of the stairs. “Stop acting like Mom!” Charlie hollered back at her sister, “I’ll be down in a second, chill!” Charlie pulled the wings that sprouted out of her head back and pinned them in her hair. Her family didn’t know about the wings, she hid it from them for years now. She woke on her tenth birthday with small wings growing out the sides of her head. They stopped growing after she turned fifteen and never let anyone see her without them pulled back. Charlie finished styling her hair and ran down the stairs. Delila was waiting by the door with her keys in hand and her phone in the other. Her sister Delila was seventeen, turning eighteen and a Senior in high school, while she was sixteen and a sophomore. “Here I thought I took a long time to get ready, come on!” Delila sighed dramatically. Charlie snatched her book bag and walked out the door to her sister’s car. Charlie’s sister drove the two of them to school, since they both went to the same school, and Charlie didn’t have her license yet. Delila started up the engine, and drove off to Redcrest High.
