Use the sliders to adjust the wave's amplitude, frequency, and particle size. A longitudinal wave is a wave where the particles oscillate parallel to the wave direction. Spots with low particle density are called rarefactions, while the spots with high particle density (the columns of bubble clusters) are called compressions. Some settings can make the compressions virtually invisible, unfortunately. Some dots are highlighted to show the movement of an individual particle. If you don't see any red dots, click the green flag again! Simulating a lot of particles can be laggy. Sorry for the inconvenience! #math #animations
