Idk why, but here is a little lesson on the solar eclipse. Also its funnyy how nobody will spend time reading this ;( The solar ecplise is a rare phenomenon that happens when the sun, moon, and earth align perfectly, or almost perfectly. The sun's light-as shown between the sun and the moon- aligns perfectly to block out light compleatly. The shadow-shown on the model between the moon and earth- is where the sunlight is blocked, and the shadow is cast onto the earth. The inner part of the shadow is called the Umbra-like umbrella. The umbra is the darker part of the shadow, and is on the path of totality. The penumbra is the lighter part of the shadow. In both, it will get darker out, and may look very strange. It can look like the world around you is graying out, but the light stays the same. It can also get darker, and octunal animals may come out, while birds and other daylight animals stay in their hiding. The path of totality is where you can see the full eclipse. People nearby, but not fully in the path of totality may see just a sliver leftover. About 31.6 million people live in the path of totality, the area where the moon fully blocked out the sun, according to NASA. The path ranged between 108 and 122 miles wide. An additional 150 million people live within 200 miles of the path of totality.
Sorry that the lines are a bit messed up and hard to see, but its funny how writing out the lesson took longer than drawing it.
