Instructions are the same as usual, 1 provides lookup. Sorry to mobile users. 1. Early design for Laura. Not much has changed, I still really like the shape of her face and nose, but she's become fully human and a little rounder. 2. Art class stuff, which will be present throughout, asked for a representation of the self. I'm an empty system, which means that I was plural but now am a singlet. The result of this is that my internal perception of myself is very different from the body. Not unpleasantly, but in my head, I'm blonde, for one. So three representations: the fursona, the innerworld, and the body, all three of which I identify with. 3. Art class stuff as well. Text reads, "i'm not drawing glasses <3". Tucked behind the redraw is a sketch for my original character Alaska's sister, Emily Blanche. Due to the magic of the town she lives in, her hair went from brown to snowy-owl white. 4. A very small doodle of my fursona. 5. Anyway this is a scan of the middle me in the art class drawing because I wanted a new hairstyle. My hair was also browner at this time. We all have phases. It looks more saturated in the finished product, which is not here because it has too much blood. 6. My fursona again, this time cosplaying a narcoleptic troll from a Homestuck horror fanventure. She's a Knight of Void, by the way. 7. The fan community for this Homestuck horror fanventure then made a collaborative multimedia joke-horror fiction running parallel to the source material. This fellow has the same name as the protagonist save for one letter, and he's contemplating inviting someone into his house. Unfortunately, if he does that, the horrors. 8. My fursona again, as the Knight of Void and her fanmade parallel who coincidentally resembles Popuko from Pop Team Epic. She is patient zero for a reality-warping cognitovirus. 9. Ziggy Lovett! A horror OC stemming from the world of TMA, but this fact is never really remarked on within the story. They're an avatar of the Flesh. He's transmasc nonbinary, schizophrenic, coydoggender, and went to jail for 6 years. This is an outdated design from when sin was an avatar of the Hunt; sin now has big brown eyes. 10. Joining Ziggy here is their ex, Merel Ivanov. She's a Vast avatar currently working as a programmer for a physics engine, and lives in an apartment where the closet door sometimes leads into a pocket dimension. She's also an autistic lesbian. The struggle between Ziggy and Merel is that the two love each other very much but Ziggy is overly codependent and Merel can't set boundaries. 11. Hence the melancholy. 12. In trying to get a firmer design on Ziggy, I decided to reference actual coyotes to learn what shapes made them up. I recommend this for all characters! Character design is a language of similes-- hands can be like sausages or leaves, but you have to know what both of those look like. 13. Merel & Ziggy Hadestown AU. 14. Art class, again a photo study. 15. Orpheus and Eurydice from Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl. This play rattles around in my head all the time. The Orpheus design came to me from nowhere so I exorcised it. One may notice he has significantly less iteration than Eurydice. I want to redesign her clothing to make her a little more 50s. 16. There's another character in that play, and I wanted to draw him as a paragon of masculinity like how he presents himself. A little sleazy with that, and old statues. 17. Fursona yearning sketch 18. Sometimes you miss people that you can't have photographs of. 19. Ziggy again. I think I draw Ziggy more than Merel but I write Merel more than Ziggy. Anyway he's furry HRT-ing into an anthro coydog, as is the dream. Due to being a Flesh avatar, Ziggy is blocked off from medical transition, or really any kind of change save for aging somehow, because aging is in the domain of the End. The Flesh here insists upon the alienation from the body, so any attempt at modification to exert some will over that is cut off. This does mean Ziggy could survive a good amount of Saw traps though. 20. A completely unrelated dude experiencing the furry curse. (You can get him in my Garage Sale!) 21-22. Two different versions of a design I liked dbut didn't have anything to do with. You can take this burnt prettyboy off my hands! 23. AU of aforementioned Homestuck horror fanventure. A more bat-buglike design than canon. 24. The previously mentioned Alaska Blanche! Because she has real ears and a toque (she's Canadian) I wanted to see if her ears fit or if she has fake ears. 25. white boy (FREE HIM IN MY GARAGE SALE) 26. So this *was* supposed to be an opposite style challenge, where I was supposed to experiment with pastels, perspective, clothing, and same face syndrome-- basically a magical girl-- and then IIIIIII didn't. You get Ziggy in knight padding though. 27. I wanted an updated reference for their face-- eyes, brows, and ears are slightly more doggy than the old drawings I had.
(cont) 28. A plush design for a mutual off-site. This is a surprise tool that'll help us later. 29-30. I wanted to practice fashion! So I drew a bunch of anthropomorphic rats in various poses! Because I also needed to practice poses. 31. No context. 32. In October I acquired a chronic disease which for me mostly affects my mitochondria, meaning my powerhouses are not power housing. The result: eepy. 33. My fursona needed new colors anyway, the red was an odd shade with low contrast. Browns are a little cooler to mesh better, and wings are smaller so I can get them out of the way. He's a little plush-like now, squishier shapes and visible stitching. 34. I think the test run turned out rather well! 35. Here's *my* character for the Homestuck spinoff spinoff, Tivern Neobis, a cerulean troll who died prior to entering the shoddy game and was fused with a camera and the game's NPC AI in revival, meaning he was a completely different "person" before he was revived on his quest bed and the original personality came back. It's also art class work for color dynamics-- here warm & cool. 36. The complementary square. 37. Alaska from 24 again! I wanted a full body reference with polished clothing design. 38. Her antipsychotics have the side effects of extrapyramidial tremors, which can make systems such as small zippers or buttons difficult to put together, so her parka is operated with velcro! Her shoes (not shown here) have a larger opening operated by a zipper with a larger loop attached, rather than complicated laces. 39. Leif Aspen-LeClaire, from the same story. He nearly died but his fiancee was able to merge him with a flowerpot to keep him alive. This design is after he's been unpotted, but one side of his face remains static wood. He's a big guy, but I'd like one more pass to clarify his strongman build. 40. Comic upon unpotting. The other fellow is his young sibling-in-law, Moth LeClaire. 41. Oliver "Oli" Sayle! He's trying to button his shirt because he has complexes about formality but his fine motor skills struggle with that. Those are bite marks on his arm; his frustrations usually render themselves external. 42. Fursona reacting to bug lady by Aldo Di Gennaro. 43. A collection of my in-rotation OCs (Oli, Alaska, Ziggy & Merel, Donnie & Laura) excluding Donnie because his design SUCKED and was redone after I finished these doodles. 44-46. Art class work with acrylics, representing Merel. A little inspired by Disco Elysium's Pale! 47. So I never got the materials for that surprise tool but I did make it manifest in this way! 48-49. Art class again, with meat for Ziggy. The paint job was done with a panic attack in thirty minutes. 50. Aleister, named after Aleister Crowley, a redesign of an existing character in a series I'm not allowed to talk about on Scratch. In contrast to the original, his color palette is varied, his torso allows for more than one intestine, and he actually looks like a deer. Detail guides the eye. 51-55. Art class work of Molina from Kiss of the Spider Woman as portrayed by Brent Carver + some studies of him because I got mad at the face. 56. Just some girl I envisioned. 57. New cover for Oli playlist because the last was so out of date that he had long hair. 58. Art "commission" for @SuqarSkllz of his character, Crow.
