So I created an april fool's day project two weeks ago to help me decide which event to do for 200+ followers. The winner of the poll was a DTA! I'm not gonna go too much into introductions but I honestly thought it would be a much longer while for me to reach 200 and above, so yeah! I was shocked. Tysm guys lots of love E DTA: Draw to Adopt. Anyone can join in an art-based contest in order to "adopt" a design. You can use them for anything except anything inappropriate or against community guidelines (if on Scratch). I promised some people I'd add a twist to the DTA- So here's a idiotic and frankly unnecessary add-on (couldn't think of a better one): There's a second contest that's going on called a """doodle contest.""" (Yea, some inspiration taken from @Kingsdee) Basically you just click on the link below that sends you to my character references, and attach a few doodles of one of my characters (or more) to your contest entry. It can be a colored sketch or literally just a scribble- in this case quantity > quality If you do enter for the doodle contest, you might place 1st for it and earn a full offbase custom. If you don't want any of the normal DTA's design, that's fine too, just remix a doodle entry. It also might boost your chances of winning a design. Hope you like them, I def think they're some of my best designs by far ➤ Designs 1. Webcore : Aka, Old Web or internetcore. It's a visualizational aesthetic of past computers and internet using early media elements such as old video games/graphics. Examples are pop-ups, pixelated art. Characters like ENA (by Joel G) represent this genre quite well. - - || Notes ▪︎ Sparkle thingies optional 2. Cybercore : An setting-based aesthetic that incorporates 3D, blue, and ideals of a future (that'll never be). Related to vaporwave and retro aesthetics, its fashion follows no particular style other than its own elements and a few others. - - || Notes ▪︎ The blue substance can be plasma fluid ▪︎ Metal (grayish) parts are very shiny. Of course this is optional but it does match with its theme better 3. Surrealism : Realistic things twisted into an unusual way to provoke a feeling of a "super reality," merging dreams and the real world into one. An example is the famous painting "The Persistence of Memory" by artist Salvador Dali (yes, the liquid clock one) - - || Notes ▪︎ Lil fork wings hehe ▪︎ The hand in the main eye can be a pupil/iris 4. Pastelcore : Also known as just pastels, this aesthetic is an umbrella term that uses light and soft tints. Anything lightly colored is a big indicator of this aesthetic, but not always. - - || Notes ▪︎Feathers on head imitate moth antennae, but they can be real 5. Modernism : This aesthetic is about trying new ways to do things, and isn't just in art. It can consist of Cubism (style) included in modern buildings and architecture, along with geometry and primary colors (Expressionism and/or Impressionism) in art. I couldn't fit in all the elements of Modernism cause it would start to look cluttered :'P - - || Notes ▪︎Assymetrical design; improvise design if needed?? 6. Pixiecore : Similar to Cottagecore and Fairycore, but is more related to magic, crystals, iridescence, and the act of being sly or mischievous. Don't know if I really achieved the feeling but I don't want to overcomplicate it too much- - - || Notes ▪︎ Wings can be transparent + the red is optional ▪︎ Hue on tail optional ▪︎ Bracelet on left leg is more silver colored ➤ What will help you win a design: ▪︎ Backstories and/or detailed stories ▪︎ High quality art (quality > quantity) ▪︎ Animations or animation memes (templates allowed) ▪︎ A doodle contest entry ▪︎ Games?!? ▪︎ Etc. - - || ■▪︎■▪︎■▪︎■ || - -
