chapter 3: frost padded down the cold, empty streets of his old village. it was a blizzard, and a stranger had just appeared out of nowhere. of course. it made sense for everyone to fear him. but... if they didn't know who he was... then... the spirit's spell had worked! frost leaped into the air. then, as he landed, with a small thump, he wondered what to do next. wonder! that's it! frost dashed into the alleyway, away from the eyes of the villagers. that alleyway was known to the locals as "the eye," and it was ruled by a terrible group of cats. once, when frost was a pup, a young kitten named Sam wandered into the eye. frost would love to say she was never seen again, but... a few years later... Sam emerged from the eye. she was leading the group of cats that haunted the alley. All the alleys had names: the eye, side street west, side street east, and alley #.435978! frost used to play for hours, sometimes with wonder in alley #.387... a twig broke. snapping back to reality, frost whirled around. no one was to be seen, but he knew the gang of cats had slipped up. alerted him of their presence... "w-where are you?" he called into what seemed like nothingness. the city had vanished, only the eye was there. only the eye. only the eye... he was a bit overheated, a bit sick, a bit hungry, and a lot thirsty. frost felt his eyelids grow heavy. if the gang of cats hadn't bothered him yet, then surely... they wouldn't... bother him...n...o...w... ... ...he collapsed on the walkway.
