Welcome to my What If series! Here we'll dive deep into what the Clan would be feeling, and what chaos would have taken place if Firestar died in the Great Battle at Fourtrees against Scourge. I have the story in the Notes and Credits section, so go read that before you continue in this section. :D ---*-------------*-------------*----------*---*--------------------*---- Wow! That was tiring! Now I feel good that Firestar didn't die, ya' know? Anyway, thanks for reading it! If you have more Warrior What If ideas, put them in the comments!
Longtail fought for the good of the Clans, not his life. Only the moment he saw Firestar, the greatest cat in the forest, the cat who ripped his ear in a fight for his honor, fall before Scourge, it was too much. He battled his way to the side of dying leader, eyes nearly pouring with tears. He knew, though, that he had to go home and Whitestorm would get his nine lives, and it would be okay. But the moment he got back to camp, the Clan was gathered around Whitestorm's limp body, he almost couldn't breath with wonder. How could StarClan do this to ThunderClan? "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, join here beneath High Rock for a Clan meeting!" Longtail heard Cinderpelt yowl from High Rock. "Firestar has fallen," she choked, "and we need a leader." "Firestar's dead?!?!?!" "What will we do now?" "I guess Fire didn't save our clan..." "Enough!" Cinderpelt yowled. "Tomorrow I will announce the new leader!" Every cat seemed to fade out of camp, like ThunderClan was just a memory now. Longtail made his way to the warriors' den, settling down in his nest near the newer warriors. He perked his head up to look sorrowfully at the center nest where Whitestorm always laid down his head, and curled his tail over his ears. In the morning, the whole Clan seemed to hold its' breath in anticipation as Cinderpelt made her way up to rock to announce the new leader, but-and everyone knew it-she felt like she was replacing the cat she loved as her first mentor.
