Manukena 間抜けな, which means 'goofy'. he named him after seeing how goofy this spirit can be. it lazes off what-so-ever, but he named it when he was a young child. Tero テロ, which was a lot more recent, he had faced depressing moments since then, traumatic experiences, and etc. Tero means terror, more resemblance towards his own grievances. he met Tero when he was a teen. backstory: Fantomu woke up in a pitch black world, darkness surrounds him. It wasn't a pleasant scent, foul smell of the dead surrounds the filthy air. There, in front of him, stands his mother, narrowing her eyes down at him. He can feel it, the intense of his mother. it was... not pleasant as well. As Fantomu grew up, he was taught at a noble degree, to a royal knowledge. as a royal child of the king and queen of this land, he had lot's to learn. it was very strict. Fantomu was taught, that he will eventually get over the smell like everyone else. but it bothered him, unlike everyone else, it didn't go away and it still sticks to him, that the stench was never going to go away. one day, he wondered around the forest, when he was about to step in, a guard appeared behind him, stopped him. "what do you think you are doing? what will we say if you disappeared into the forest like that? we can't afford to face the queen and king." he hissed. "well, i just wonder.. what's behind that..." Fantomu responded. "Didn't the queen and king tell you not to step out of the castle?" he dissed. "well... yes... but it- it is boring in there..." Fantomu muttered, turning away to look at the ground. "Then you should know better, look at all of those, who lives on the street. at least you have a better life, Lord Cyril. go back to your castle." the guard dismissed with a wave. Fantomu had no choice but to return. it is true, it disheartens him, that some lives by the street, starving to death. but, he can't get why the family would not share, nor let him into the forest. it was all a puzzle, a mystery to him. did they not want to help them? were they hiding something from him? for one thing he knew, he did not like his parents. it was oddly familiar to him, that he was mistreated. his older siblings were the face of his family, they were proud and were always praised. unlike Fantomu, who stood in the corner, in the shadows, doing what-so-ever that he thinks of. playing with his toys, reading a book, practicing out magic spells. Fantomu, also kept secrets from his family. for one thing, his biggest secret is how great of a magician he is. he has the power to wipe out a whole city, nonetheless, he kept his strength away, and pretended to be normal, not to grab attention towards him. he knew, if he did reveal it, it will cause the parents to be more strict, to be more ruthless, and whatever else. as a child, Fantomu had a hobby of reading, wanting to know knowledge. indeed, he has a knowledge that many does not have, a high amount of knowledge. but, there's more to figure, he knew it. that was because, he summoned a ghost. he named it Manukena due to the ghost's silly behavior. it makes him laugh. Manukena described all of his adventures and memories he had when he was still alive. Fantomu was in awe. not only did the places of Manukena were a fantasy to Fantomu, but a place that Fantomu never been to. Manukena said he had seen no place like this, even the ghost said this place smells off. Manukena had been spying on the castle, after all, no one can see Manukena whenever Manukena wants, being a ghost. From Manukena, Fantomu realized not only was he being mistreated, but being talked about behind his back. Manukena notices Fantomu's liking towards book and new knowledge, so once in a while, he would steal a book out of the vault or tell Fantomu about one of his experiences previously. Manukena was a source of happiness for Fantomu. the only source right now, in this very castle. he became quiet having Manukena around, he learned so much more. he had so much more fun, a better mood each day. but it all came crashing on him, when his mother, ordered to have war with a nearby nation. Fantomu didn't realize there were other kingdoms than the very one he has spent his whole life at. "The world is big. way bigger than i thought." Fantomu said, at Manukena. "Of course! Bigger than you can imagine! combine where i've been to where u know exist, its only a little bit of the whole world!" Manukena explained. "Wow" Fantomu said. he did not want to see war. "Let's go beneath the forest." he decided. "Good idea." Manukena agreed.

REF of Phantom 2. fyi, its old art..... its an experiment and a little... cringe... continuation of backstory: "I think it teleports you outside of this realm." Manukena explained. "must be why they kept it away from you and everybody who wants to go there." "true." Fantomu said, thoughtfully. "they told me that ones that goes in will disappear and never come back when i wanted to go there. that one time the guard stopped me, and i had no choice but to return to this very castle." "but im still glad i didn't enter yet. if i did, i might have never thought to meet you." Fantomu smiled. "Ha. You can find a ghoul pretty much anywhere." Manukena grinned. "Not one like you." Fantomu replied, giggling. "How are we going to do this now.. let's start planning?" "Oh i know exactly how! i know this castle layout right at the back of my head." Manukena exclaimed proudly. "You'll see" "really?" Fantomu said, surprised, happy at the same time. "You see this?" he said, as he lifted the piece of fabric hanging on the wall. the glistening red. to his surprise, it was a secret entrance, or exit. he can hear footsteps, it sounded... like his mother's, most importantly. he is afraid of his mother, he had been intensely scary. she was not a motherly-figure to him, more of the monster he's trying to get away from. "Hurry!" Manukena shouted. Fantomu followed Manukena thru the endless tunnel. behind him, he can hear, "where did he go?" "wasn't he suppose to stay here?" "why is the window open..." oh, Fantomu left the window open accidentally. but it serves as a great distraction to how they might think he had jumped out of the window. At last, Fantomu reached the end of this secret tunnel, into the dark depth of provision. there, water dripped soundlessly into the tunnel. everything was dark. no light, none at all. however, Fantomu can see fine very well. "you have nightvision." Manukena said. "it is one of ur special ability." "wow." Fantomu said, can't believe it. for the first time, the stench wasn't as bad, it was gone, the dead foul smell was gone, tho it didn't smell good either. it smelt of sewers, better than before, at least. "you should figure out all of your capabilities and use them to your advantage." Manukena advised. "not only that, improve them, and practice controlling them." "thanx, Manukena." tho Manukena may be a spark of happiness for Fantomu, he was more wise than he is, goofy. he was only named that because of Fantomu's childish brain that could behold, his first impression. he had influenced his life more than his mother ever could. in the dark tunnel, it was a dead end. "no worries." Manukena said, "break the bars." "what..?" Fantomu shuddered, he didn't know if he could succeed, it would make a large amount of noise if so. "You know you could." Manukena winked. "c'mon now. you can destroy a whole city! control it... and then, you can put it into use right here right now. let me teach you something." "oh?" "feel your magic, ready? do you feel something swirling inside of you?" "...yeah..." "ok, that's your magic, look, its not wild and going all crazy. you have it in control right now! and if it does, calm it. like a wild beast." Manukena said, demonstrating. Fantomu nodded. "now close your eyes, this is how you calm it, think of beautiful, calming, happy situations and force the magic to think there is no danger surrounding you. it only acts to protect you." Fantomu closed his eyes, imagining the times where he met Manukena for the first time. the spark that emit his full on emotions. "Now. try to move it with your paws, if you were human, you would be moving it with your hand, but, same thing ye?" Fantomu did, he feel the magic follow his paw the direction he points as he turns and twisted. He moved his whole body and his magic seems to follow, peacefully. flowing like a stream, calmly, and quietly. "Now point at the direction of the bars. imagine your just trying to cease something with no harm." Manukena directed. Fantomu did. he opened his eyes slowly, and walked towards the bars with a steady pace, lifting one paw, he touched the bars. "move aside." Fantomu whispered. the bars were now filled with Fantomu's magic, it glowed blue, and started to bend out of shape outward. no noise. it worked. the bars came outwards to the sides, creating a pathway big enough for Fantomu to go through. "it worked!" Fantomu said, jumping up and down. "thank you thank you thank you !!" "haha now. i can teach you wayyy more." Manukena grinned. as they walked farther, they can see light now. the stench was also fading. at last, they faced, the open of the tunnel. the forest was just a step away! "ready now?" Manukena said, looking at Fantomu. to be continued in next entry
