He had woken up again. Something was wrong here. However, it wasn't the familiar embrace of the darkness around him, the feeling of the water in his lungs that had taken ages for him to get used to the pain, or the tightness of the shackle, that had been holding him in this deep pitch-black trench. He had no idea how long it had been now. Years? Months? Centuries? Thinking about it too much made his head hurt... Today felt... different, however. He couldn't grasp what had changed yet, but he was sure of it... He just needed to wait a bit longer... And so he did. He paused for a few more agonizing moments that had burdened him in waking up again until he saw it. The large, bright green slitted eyes from below; staring straight at him as if the serpant-like creature was staring right into his soul. The creature seemed to watch him for a few moments, as if examining if he was worth the risk of taking him for its next meal, before going in for the kill.
