The first thing Luna had decided on, before the steps or ideas or what her kits might be interested in, was the name. From her perspective, an activity couldn’t truly be a fun activity unless it had a fun name— and thus, after a moment of word-rummaging… the learny journey was born. Soooo, depending on how you see the title, this is going to be either a colassally disorganized hurricane or a wonderfully educational adventure :P Not having trained anyone long-term, and only showing someone else a skill once or twice, Luna is going to be approaching this as she does all things, with a curious spirit and open mind (AKA no experience). She will, however, try her best to plan ahead for once, plotting out general steps that the learny journey will follow. And that’s what we’re here to see! (questions for the roleplayers at the bottom) general info -Most of this is going to happen oorp, and just be assumed to have happened! -Since Luna mostly developed her own techniques without anyone teaching her one correct way, she’ll let them modify what she shows them as much as they want. -The learning might be a little slow-going, because the family are loners and Luna wants them to have time to explore by themselves— though exploring together might sometimes lead to random side lessons! -Luna will always ask why they think things, why they did things, what they expect from one place or another, questioning any biases or assumptions they might have. -It’ll be separated into ‘steps’, each of which could take anywhere from half a moon to two and a half moons— I’ve only put approximations on here. Luna will wait to move on until they have a firm grasp on the current step, though the steps won’t have the clearest distinctions. -Everything will be approached with the funnest attitude possible!! This rule is nonnegotiable!! step 1 (5-ish moons old) Here, Luna will ask them what they’re interested in, and start teaching them basic skills of hunting, tracking, tree-climbing, etc. She’ll try to prepare for teaching what they want to know more about in the coming moons and get the family used to training. step 2 (6.5-ish moons old) This step will be spent developing basic skills, adding on more complex versions along with new skills like basic fighting, awareness, dangerous terrain, etc., and starting to explore the more specialized things the kits seem to be interested in. step 3 (7.5-ish moons old) During this step, they will continue to build on the basics and more challenging skills, while also figuring out strange ways to combine them. Luna will collaborate with her kits to kind of teach each other/learn all together the beginnings of their more specific interests. step 4 (9-ish moons old) With the fourth step, more unusual, unfamiliar, fun, and potentially dangerous skills will be added and combined, for example catching prey that fights back while in a tree. Luna is aware that some of this is very unnecessary, but she thinks it’s interesting to learn about, laugh at, and tinker with. They will be asked to make tiny projects using the things that they’re interested in, like maybe a garden for Monarch. step 5 (10.5-ish moons old) In this step, Luna will continue urging them to explore and develop their skills, but she will also slowly start backing away, letting them figure things out by themselves. She will tell them that a test of some kind will be coming up, and show them how to prepare, but make sure that they don’t worry too much about it. step 6 (11.5-ish moons old) It the fiinaaal count— I mean step! This is really only a few days, which together will see them completing a complicated rule-based obstacle course, a race/fight to get materials for healing and shelter, a prey-catching competition, and an exhibition of what they learned by themselves. Whatever they don’t finish one day, they pick up on the next. All of this will be strictly (aka partially) supervised and made sure it’s safe. At the end, Luna will declare them ready to be self-sustaining loners, congratulate them, and basically let them do whatever they want from now on (though she’ll be poking her head in to check on them now and then). Questions for the roleplayers: After the learny journey is complete, does your character keep living with Luna, or go off by themself? What is the specialty/specialties that your character is interested in? Please let me know if you have any questions about this!! ignore the terrible art, I got lazy-
