“Well?” Complained the art teacher, called Ms. Dee-Lee “You see… Rose is my middle name, but since I pronounce my name Lila as Lee-la, the office gets confused and puts Rose on the attendance sheet.” Lila stutters. “Very well then. You can go back in.” Ms. Dee-Lee says. Lila then rushes back into the room, her long reddish-brown hair trailing behind her, and her cheeks bright red. She silently gets back to work, until Sophie cries: “Omigod, McKenna, what are you DOING?! You’re so weeiird!” McKenna was making some sort of stick-like shape out of the clay, with two little pegs on each end. “Don’t be rude!” Lila scolded Sophie. “But…McKenna is it? What is that?” “It’s a balance beam! Can’t you tell what it is?!” McKenna cried. Lila started to try and comfort her when Sophie grumbles, “Ugh. I better not be in the same class as the two of you next year…” “Believe me, neither do I.” Lila muttered. The day came and went, and as it was the end of the school year everyone left happily. Sophie walked out with her friends, who were in a different class, McKenna walked out with her friends from gymnastics, and Lila met up with some of her friends. “Fourth grade is over!” Lila cried. Seconds later, many other cries of happiness were heard. The summer came and went, with Sophie going to the pool a lot and McKenna going to gymnastics camp. Lila mainly stayed home and visited her cousins’ house. Two weeks before school was supposed to start, Lila received a letter telling her which class she would be in. Her teacher would be Mrs. Chang, who Lila knew was very nice, since the fifth graders who had her last year kept bragging she was the best. Below that, the names of her classmates were listed. She read through the list, before she came to the last two names. “McKenna Worth and Sophia Yard!? This is going to be the worst school year ever!” TO BE CONTINUED COMMENT IF U WANT PART 2!!!
