I am impatient. But patient enough to keep chapter 10 to myself still. So. These are three festival cats so far. 1 - Fú. He’s based on the Shangyuan Festival, also called the Yuanxiao Festival or the Lantern Festival, a Chinese holiday. His lanterns also have the same word as his name. He does not have a hat, that is a bowl of yuanxiao. 2 - Zhǐdǎo. He’s based on the Zhongyuan Festival, also known as the Ghost Festival or the Hungry Ghost Festival, another Chinese holiday. He has red paper lotus lanterns in the water that covers parts of his body, and there are ghost fires floating in the water as well as in the air around him. You can see his ribs and spine. There was a lot I wanted to add to his design that I didn’t end up adding, but maybe one day I’ll add those things. 3 - Matsuri. I don’t like him as much. He’s based on the Cherry Blossom Festival, a Japanese holiday. I had a great idea and it… was not executed well. Oh well. He still looks alright.
