Okay...I gotta be honest with myself: I don't think the Roar reboot is really working out. Not only do I not really feel inspired to keep it going, but I also feel like the direction I tried doesn't work. It feels a bit too edgy and grimdark, it follows too close to what the original story did, and above all...it wasn't a very good story to begin with. Over the past three or so years (And I think COVID definitely had a heavy hand in that), I think I've gotten to a more critical and cynical standpoint. I've watched dozens of videos on story writing, tropes, characterization, etc. And looking back on how I handled Leo and the crew...good lord, does it not hold up in my eyes. And pretty recently, with how @SilverAndKaylee15 has started her story reboot in an honestly awesome direction, it's got me thinking...should I just start everything over? Like, everything? I want to keep the general idea going: A random Mobian who unfortunately got caught up in the aftermath of Eggman's wrongdoings. But I wanna reinvent it. Redo the characters. Redo the story beats. Redo the tone. And I guess that means I'll have to start back from the ground up. It might take a little while, and I may not be as active as I'd like to be (College/work kicking my butt and personal stuff I won't get into), but if I ever wanna progress as a storyteller, I think this is the best thing to do. Hopefully I can make some good progress soon enough. I hope you guys enjoy what I have planned in the future.
