[The Woodcarver's Curse] 7 I woke up at 6 in the morning on Eden’s birthday, desperately finding a good present for my sister. “How could I forget about my own sister’s birthday?” I questioned myself. “Think of a good gift!” But my mind went blank. Suddenly, a light bulb floated on top of my head, and I messaged my friends ‘What birthday present should I give Eden?’. In an instant, Elaine’s reply was sent back to me, saying, ‘Get her a cake.’ Audrey’s response came a few minutes later, ‘I’m not sure what she likes, but a party would be a perfect gift!’ I didn’t want Eden’s present to be a normal birthday gift, it had to be extraordinary! When Eden woke up, I got an idea. “Happy birthday, your majesty!” I knelt in front of her. “Would you like me to do your hair into two ponytails? Is that how you like it?” Eden jumped up and down in excitement, “Yes! Please do it!” So, I sat down on a chair, Eden sat in another chair in front of mine, and I tied her hair just the way she liked it. "What would you like to wear?" I asked Eden. "I pink cold shoulder top and a black long skirt!" she exclaimed. "Do we even have such clothes?" I asked. "No..." Eden mumbled and slumped down on the couch. "Why don't we go shop for them?" I suggested. "Yay!" Eden said as we left the house to the mall (it was Saturday). At the mall, we got Eden's dream clothes that she requested, a teddy bear, some decorations, balloons, and best of all, a birthday cake! "Why do we need these decorations?" Eden asked. "Well, you'll see!" I replied. "We're gonna have a party?!" Eden shrieked, and I watched as a big grin spread across her face. "Maybe, maybe not," I grinned. "I bet we are!" Eden exclaimed as she danced around me. That afternoon, Audrey, Elaine, and Rachel came over to help us decorate for Eden's party. "So we *are* going to have a party, YAY!" she exclaimed. We all helped decorate for Eden's party until five p.m. when the doorbell rang just as we finished putting up all the decorations and inflating the colourful balloons. "Why don't you go get the door?" I said to Eden as I secretly winked at my friends. Eden grabbed the doorknob, turned it, opened the door and gasped. The next things that happen were very emotional. Mother was on a wheelchair, Mrs. Lee and Miss Wong were pushing her, and they cried, "Happy Birthday, Eden!" Eden ran to Mother with me and pulled into an embrace. When I thought nothing would go wrong, I looked out the window and saw a cloaked man holding a dagger and looking up at me...
It's not really the real Eden's birthday...
