SPACE BAR~CLICK~ARROW KEYS FULLSCREEN PLEASE Hi! This is my entry for main character! It might be a bit late in some time zones, but I hope that's okay. Just so you know, your design is pure eyecandy!!! I just wanna *nom* like actually, it's stunning. I'm so lucky to have had the opportunity to draw this!!! LORE: Name: Velvete Pronouns: She/her Personality: VERY self-centric, narcissistic, and attention seeking, but also has a deep fear of being unloved. Backstory: Velvete never meant to stand on the sidelines. She was born to take the spotlight and steal the show. Her parents were the leaders of a popular traveling circus, and she grew up knowing the stage and the crowds of people. Once she was old enough, she went off on her own to perform at a theater well known for its marionette dolls. Velvete would act alongside the dolls, but she was never the star of the show. Every day they would outperform her, only made of wood and string. She was fed up with it. One day, she went to talk to the puppeteer. "Why are the dolls always the main act?" she asked, "I want to have one show where I am the main character!" He looked at her, and said, "I can make you a deal. You want to be star puppet so bad? Well then you can be." He turned her limbs into shafts of wood, and her tails into twine. "There. But you'll have to pay the price." Her face disappeared, all save for her mouth and right eye, which pulsed red and yellow. "What?!?" Velvete screamed, "You can't do that! What about my face! My beautiful face!" "Fine." The puppeteer said. He picked a stray theater mask off the floor. "Wear this. It'll suit you." "Wha- wha- w-what?" Velvete stammered, "You're just going to leave me like this?" "The puppeteer grinned. "Isn't this what you always wanted? You'll finally be the main character. I'll see you tomorrow to help you get ready for your new role." Velvete went home, feeling lost. She convinced herself that it was just an adjustment that she'd have to get used to. The next day she showed up, and put on her best smile. Strings were tied to her joints, and she swayed to the movements of the puppeteer above her. Finally, she was the main character. Even she had lost so much, it was still victory for her.
ART NOTES: Scratch makes the image quality REALLY, REALLY bad for some reason so just bear with me. This was my first time doing lineless so it looks a bit wonky since i kept most of the sketch in. Also this rendering style is new to me, so i guess im just trying everything today. This was all done on procreate :>
