I’ll be updating this storage with my hw instead of creating a new project each time <3 anyways the design is still a bit shaky but the words that inspired is we’re - contradicting, angel, and contrast contrast was supposed to be illustrated by the colors, the darkness of the black hair and the brightness of the red accents as opposed to the white wings and dress the concept of the character is an angel who lures troubled people to death, which is contradicting in a sense since the angel is technically doing something that would be considered “evil”, however he intentions are good The angel theme is shown with the wings, and halo, and also the character is dressed in white, which is the color that angels are typically depicted wearing. the white of the angels dress is meant to illustrate “pureness” Another significant theme for the character was spider lilies. The angel has spider lilies on her dress, and spider lily vines wrapped around her legs (not drawn). Additionally the dress is curled like the petals pf a spider lily - this is an additional part of the “contradictory” aspect of the design because Spider lilies, particularly the red spider lily, are symbols of death, the afterlife, and reincarnation in Japanese and Chinese cultures. The dress does have additional intricacies and details, but since this was meant to be just a general concept sketch I refrained from building onto the dress too much so I can develop over the course of the class! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- heres the characters general desc - Graceful and ghostlike, as if they’re always slightly fading or glowing softly. Think "funeral flower meets celestial being" — elegant, eerie, delicate but commanding. ? Hair sharp cut black hair, to contrast with the flowing fabric of the rest of the design. Eyes - pure red eyes with tiny red spider lilies blooming in the pupils, with a ring of gold showcasing the angel aspect Clothing - Flowing robes or a dress that resembles spider lily petals — layered, thin, slightly curled at the ends. colors are elegant whites, with a sharp accent of red the same color of spider lilies, the accent color should be minimally used but also noticeable where used, there should also be bright gold accents with vein-like gold embroidery, Wings - bright white and huge, with red tips that look like they’ve been dipped in dye or blood. the wings should look soft and downy When they stretch their wings, they give the illusion of a blooming flower. Halo - A halo of spider lilies— growing from their halo like a living part of them. Special Touches - Barefoot, with flower vines wrapping up their legs like natural sandals. - Wherever they step, a single spider lily grows, then wilts — a sign they were there. ————————————————————————— hw !! - most of the ”switch” in this design is in the personality and character concept! - instead of a angel with good intentions, leading troubled souls to a better place, the opposite design is am selfish angel, who revives people in order to carry out her own selfish plans - everything “pure” and good hearted in the first angels design has been simulated in the opposite. - the outfit has the flowiness, but it’s not throughout, as if it’s fake, a regular person in angels clothes - the wings are cut and bloody, a feather falls each time she harms someone indirectly. - her halo is made of spider lilies ( see symbolism) - overall angry, snappy and selfish attitude. - I also decided to loosen up the hair in the original design and add the bloody halo. ___________________________________________________ hw !! - I think the main thing I chained in the silhouette is the legs and how the dress looked. I wanted the dress to look more like the curled petals of a flower lily so that’s what I tried to capture ^^
