after the first wave of soldiers came, charging at madridian lines they'd be met with fierce resistance, soldiers dug into trenches and foxholes. they'd follow a german strategy that was deployed in the great war, elastic defense. instead of one strong line of trenches, it'd be several lines. the outpost line being the weakest would be at the front; it'd act as a soft layer of defense before the "juice in the fruit". then theres the main trenches, filled with pillboxes, bunkers, machine gun nests, and lots of soldiers defending, and their dug into the ground. on the surface between these areas are rows of barbed wire, which would slow the enemy advance and drag them into a deep battle of attrition. connecting the outpost trench, the main one, and the rear are cross-sections, they are like a maze and wind and go in different directions just to drag out the battle for a very long time. the final part is the rear, it's far from the outpost trench and is filled with many artillery batteries and lots of pillboxes and outposts. there would also be where fresh recruits come to, which is the rear. they would fill in the empty positions at the main and outpost trenches. day and night, artillery would rain upon the shyguy nation, ensuring that they have no morale to fight, rockets would also rain upon them, thousands of shells and rockets are fired to weaken the shyguy nation and drive their people to the absolute insanity. jets would bomb cities, and the frontlines would be so devasted that there is no grass nor plants, just broken trees and the faint smell of gas and a sight fog. there are shell craters everywhere, and many houses/buildings are destroyed. the shyguy nation is nearing its breaking point, lots of men are dying and many are too scared to fight, they refuse to be sent to the trenches just to die, anti-war media is going strong in the shyguy nation, though in madrid cracks are starting to form. for every 5 shyguy soldiers is killed, 2 madridian are lost. it will be a long road to recovery..... but one thing stays for certain....... theres no discharge in a war........
