Wow. 104 chapters over a number of years. That deserves a project in its own right. EA has been a part of my life since the day a curious 11-year-old read chapter 65. For me and countless others, EA has entertained us, shone some light on real-world issues, and brought thousands of regular old people together, all on a weekly basis. That DEFINITELY deserves a project. While I am sad to see EA go, like so many others, I do think this is the perfect opportunity to look at how far we’ve come. 104 chapters, 2 asks and dares, 4 theme song projects, thousands on thousands of diehard fans. Those are huge accomplishments, especially on a site like Scratch. Not only that, EA has also been so much more than just something to glance at every Monday. EA has created an entire new generation of artists, theorists, and writers. Meadow, through their silly little warrior cats fanfic, has inspired so many others to pick up a pen and create something incredible. Myself included. EA is probably the main reason I took up writing. Look at me now: I’m planning an entire game series, with deep, undeveloped lore. Theorists from way back to the early days of EA may someday contribute the idea that solves one of fandom’s greatest mysteries. Fan artists may continue their work, creating some of the new great webcomics and graphic novels. And that’s just scratching the surface. It may seem like I’m over exaggerating, but I’m not. Meadow, take a look around. See the amazing fandom you’ve built up, the incredible people that surround you. And then… keep dreaming. Go bigger, better. Get out onto that new site, and show the world what you can do. We’ll miss you, Meadow. But we’ll also keep dreaming, too.
@MeadowFoot_TOPH for everything.
