My name is Rubi and I'm so excited to have a chance to work with you :D I'm auditioning for both the role of a Group Member and a Creative Team Member ^^ ~~~~~~~~~~ First of all, here's some things about myself: - Rubi isn't my real name, but a lot of thought went into picking the role-play name and stage name. First, I translated my real name to Korean, and I got Hyeru, (Hye means 'grace', 'love', and 'intelligence' and Ru means 'dew' and 'beauty') which has similar meaning to my real name. As for the stage name, Rubi, there are two meanings. One, 'Rubi' stems off 'Ru' in Hyeru, my roleplay name. Two, Jennie's fandom name is 'Ruby'. The significance of this is that Jennie is one of my role models for her versatility and creativity! I'm from Singapore, and I'm a Cantonese-Chinese Singaporean. I'm fluent in English, I can speak decent Chinese, as well as Elementary Level Japanese and Korean. I will be pitching a character inside (see 'About Me' sprite), the stage name I've been using is Rubi, and roleplay name Hyeru. However, I want to find a better stage name that is more distinct and unique. I'm currently brainstorming, but if you have any ideas PLEASE let me know! 2. my timezone is SGT, (or GMT +8) and I can commit about a day a week to this project (or more) as long as my parents don't make major changes to my screentime rules 3. I love how this project is really well planned out, I really hope to be in an actual group that doesn't disband almost immediately. I also want to find a good, solid project worth committing to and putting a lot of effort in! 4. I like to think of myself as an all-rounder, because I enjoy singing, rapping, voice acting, songwriting and leadership roles a lot and (I hope) I think I do decently at all of them :) so I'd be really happy with any roles :D 5. bahaha- I already did, but I'll give a bit more :) my favorite artists are BabyMonster, Blackpink (and all their solos, but esp Jennie and Rose), Em Beihold, Olivia Rodrigo, (begins talking on and on) -- my hobbies are all arts related -- I love writing, songwriting, singing, drawing, etc etc, and I have a sprite inside named "Other Skills" where I display some of my other hobbies/skills for the fun of it :P However, (probably to make up for my proficiency in the arts TT) my math CANNOT MAKE IT. (my besties say me doing math is the funniest thing to watch ever and I can't really deny it ;-;) I also love dancing, I did ballet for over 5 years, but now I've stopped and I'm leaning more into kpop/hiphop/contemporary ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's the end of my group member audition! (already answered) 5. my proficiency in writing is pretty decent, and in terms of creativity I'm pretty fast. I can write songs in a few days (not including production/mixing/recording). So my strength is creativity, definitely. So many ideas. I can write something from nearly anything, test me :D 6. Sprites inside: - about me (contains character pitch, about me, etc etc) - skills (contains vocal and rap and voice acting snippets) - writing (contains samples of songs/lyrics/stories by me) - other skills (contains my art, writing, and basically my other skills. just for funsies. auditions are meant for showing off and getting in, aren't they?/silly -- I am aware I'm not very skilled tho--) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` And now that we've talked enough about how good I am and why you should accept me, here are some reasons why this audition is HORRIBLE and you shouldn't add me to the lineup: Numb Little Bug Cover: a lot of strain. Since I recorded it, I've figured out how to properly switch from chest to head (I hope), and done away with this. You can probably hear me straining in the hard parts. Now that I've improved, it's so PAINFULLY obvious to me ;-; Arcade Cover: Let's be real, back when I recorded this (it was only last month omg and I sound so horrible) I didn't know how to use head voice back then, and the high notes are shrill and nasal. I've worked on this, and even though I know I can do it nicely now I can't stand how it sounds. It's disgusting. I just thought I'd let you know how bad my technique was. Pretty sure you can find better singers in Scratch. Mantra Cover / Famous Cover: Both were recorded when I obviously wasn't familiar with both songs. (I was looking at the lyrics for the first time when I recorded those ToT). It's so stumbly and not smooth. Please don't call me a rapper- it's just saying words fast. I hope my flow has improved since then (ie a few weeks ago TT) but I have no idea. Golden: It's so strained what. I can hit the last 'born to be' sometimes but I haven't practiced it enough to be consistent yet. I'll get it eventually, but don't accept me based on promises or predictions. I really, really wanna get into this group so let's just say i did MANY takes for each song. So my voice sounds very scratchy and tired, I promise it's usually not like this. I was just working extra hard on that day. I've learned my lesson and I won't tire my vocal chords out again next time. PLEASE NOTE! I'm not saying you shouldn't accept me. I want to be accepted SO BAD. But just letting you know that I think this audition isn't that good. I can do better, but I don't have the time to keep updating every time I improve and become discontent with the current one (I'm such a perfectionist- I'm forcing myself to release this b4 it's 'perfect', but this section is to tell you how much I'm aware of its imperfection.) I hope you'll still consider accepting me despite my lack of skills. I'm always working hard to improve and I'm getting better at singing and rapping and songwriting day by day. I promise you won't regret accepting me. ~~~~ Thank you for your time, I hope I wasn't too long winded. I'm aware I talk to much. I just wanted to make absolute sure I do my best this audition, even if the vocals inside aren't as good as what I'm capable of now (like I explained, but I'll say again, I have no time to record, and I'm afraid if I let myself keep editing, I'll unleash my obsessive perfectionism and the audition will never come out :( - anyways) ~~~~ End :D (finally lol)
