I look at my clock, but I can’t read it. It’s too blurry, but I look out my window but it’s bright. /god was I up all night?/ I’m so tired I feel like I’ll sleep the moment I open my eyes, when suddenly I get an email. I open it and read what it says. “Hi FlufflesTheAxlotol! you have been selected for the Scratch Games, a fun event hosted by scratch where you and other scratchers will use your scratch skills to complete challenges. Have fun, Scratch.” /An event with scratchers… that sounds interesting./ I’m just about to go back to bed when I see my screen getting brighter. I look at the screen and it starts flashing and I’m suddenly… falling. /That doesn’t make sense… how am I falling?/ I look around there’s only light around me. It’s so bright and long I can’t even see if there’s anything at the bottom. Then, I see an end to the tunnel. It’s faint, but there, and as I get closer I realize it’s not going to be a soft landing. /crap./ I brace for impact, but it does nothing and I hit the floor with a thud. As I stand up I realize that… I haven’t broken anything. Either I’m invincible or that tunnel was shorter than I thought. Not only that but my balance feels different. I look down. I’m still in my clothes and gear, but my feet are not feet, but paws. Wolf paws, as well as a tail. I’m shocked, but try not to let it distract me. /how did this happen?!/ Then, I look around the area and, as I was expecting, not in my room anymore. Instead, it’s a small grey room. After unsuccessfully trying to escape I look around and find a box in one corner. Before I make my way over to the chest, a loud voice from a speaker announces, “Welcome scratchers to the Scratch Games! Your first challenge is to escape your room with the items provided in your box. You have one hour. Good luck!” The speaker shuts off, and I wonder what happens if I don’t escape, as well as why am I here. Then, after realizing that is just wasting the hour, I bolt over to the chest in the corner. I expected a hammer, or a grenade, or SOMETHING, but as I look in there, once again, I’m shocked. The items they gave us to escape with are scratch blocks. I pull out a few, looking for the green flag button. I may be confused, but I know how scratch blocks work. As I get other blocks, I look at what they do. One has a red octagon. I attach “move 10 steps” to “when green flag pushed” and push the code. It moves me 10 steps. That makes it pretty clear these blocks control me. I continue to find more blocks, make edits, and accidentally slam myself in the wall, until I hear the voice again. “Attention scratchers! You have 10 minutes remaining.” /That’s not good. If I don’t get out of here in 10 minutes. who knows if I’ll ever make it out if I don’t./ I continue to edit the code frantically, trying to get my coordinates and glide blocks right. I accidentally hit the button with the speed too high and start zooming straight toward the wall. I close my eyes and brace myself, but instead I flow right through the wall. /Freaky./ I find an empty white void on the other side with others around me. I see Starry and try to walk over, but I’m stopped by some kind of force field. /That sucks. Well, I guess I have to wait for the next challenge./
