In recent times, the NASM has expanded Project Helix and is building several variants of the Helix, specifically variants that track vibrations in the ground and create pathways, those which break through defenses and can plant objects, bugs, or technology, and those that can stay in waiting before performing operations like information theft and the destruction of caverns. Regardless, anti-ground networking is becoming more prevalent and growing rapidly more accurate and powerful by the second. On a higher note, the NASM has continued to expand naval technology to allow vessels to reflect plasma weaponry more effectively thanks to the long developed and used reflective plating (in place since the 1st Jundui War) and drone platforming being extended. Finally, HEMP technology continues to expand, with ground piercing capabilities and space variations akin to advanced solar wind are also being developed. Hailrh. Next, the NASM has finished the newest models of the WR Tom Cruiser, allowing for the transportation of Worm Rippers throughout the galaxy and Sol. They have been specially designed to also support low atmospheric orbit, and some models have been altered to allow them to fly around the Earth and even land on the ground. These models are slower and bulkier, but still extremely fast in comparison to regular Earth craft. They come in varying sizes and can be anywhere between small and large, but most of them have their FTL engines removed since they are unnecessary. They can be added at any time if need be. Right now, these ships are not being listed under the space naval count, so the exact number in existence is unknown. Of course, this technology is kept immensely secret and is not to be shared with anyone. These ships are to be used in the Australian Megaproject. Hailrh. Finally, the Cosmosedge Plasma Cannon is one of several new high velocity plasma weapons that the NASM is putting into use, expanding the already fast usage of plasma weaponry by the NASM. With this, several old ships are having their weaker plasma weapons retrofitted with plasma cannons and long-period lasers, specifically for dealing with increasingly advanced space life and unrest in Psychlo. Regardless, the most immediate application for such weaponry has been found in expanding the power of space drones and the HEMP GSD network of the NASM. In reference to the first point, several space drones are being fitted with weaker plasma turret/cannon models and being hooked up to the HEMP GSD network, allowing a cooperative defense from space that is not independent of the domestic defense plan of the NASM. This system is modeled after the Drone Net of the Caribbean, but given the superiority of NASM space drones and the prevalence of the HEMP GSD program, it is overall far more effective.With these space drones being added to the HEMP GSD defense system, several new defenses are being set up domestically. Specifically, large laser cannons, retrofitting old GSDs with laser turrets, drone coordination networks, etc. This will expand the NASM’s domestic defenses beyond anything ever seen before, and will likely make the airspace of the NASM completely impenetrable.
