The 1974 DEVES hydraulic lift, a unique mid-20th-century engineering marvel, has a peculiar history. Initially robust, Otis corporation modified it. Later, Baldi Basic egregiously altered it, making it an auditory and visual spectacle. It now perpetually plays every song from the "Baldi's Basics" soundtrack by Random Encounters, with Baldi slapping his ruler after his introduction. Prank calling security twice triggers a Baldi jump scare. Despite these oddities, it's a functional lift, but expect loud, unexpected sounds and disorienting flashing lights. Baldi, antagonist in "Baldi's Basics" games and protagonist in "Baldimore" comics, is head teacher at Schoolhouse and Super Schoolhouse. He presents math problems on the "You Can Think Pad" or "Math Machines" to collect notebooks. A dramatic twist reveals his sinister side upon the player's first error, transforming the game into a perilous experience. Visually, Baldi is a poorly-modeled CGI character from Anim8or. He has light skin, long, slender fingers, prominent red lips, expressive eyebrows, and a single ginger/orange hair. He wears a long-sleeved green shirt, blue jeans, and light brown shoes. His left elbow is blue in "Baldi's Basics Plus" but gray in "Baldi's Basics Classic" and "Birthday Bash." Despite no visible ears, a poster confirms his exceptionally acute hearing, contributing to his unsettling omnipresence. During chases, Baldi's facial expression remains neutral, compressed, and distorted due to dithering. This lack of overt emotion and distorted visuals amplify the eerie, unsettling atmosphere, creating profound unease and tension, making him a memorable and unique antagonist.
