The Guardian The Guardian was the protector of the Scug tree and responsible for caring for the young slugpups. As hunters went into danger for survival, The Guardian would stay in the tree's protection and take care of the pups by feeding them, keeping them warm, and playing with them. One day, a dropwig slipped into the nursery. The Guardian jumped on the dropwig and dragged it off its nest. Both the dropwig and The Guardian fell from one of the rotten floorboards located at the bottom of the tree roots.They began tumbling inside a pipe, getting carried away in the direction of the Drainage System of the Scug tree, when it gets darker and more slippery. Now being separated from the pups, they desperately go back up to the top of the tree to return to the pups. The room is quiet and cold, the pups huddled together, shivering and hungry. At the sound of footsteps, the pups look up. Recognizing The Guardian, they let out joyful chirps and sprint forward. Kneeling, the Guardian huddles in a big, warm pile, glad that the pups are safe. Ending Cutscene (Ending 2/3, True Ending)The Guardian returns to the nursery, but it is empty. The pack moved to a safer location while they were gone. The Guardian looks at the empty nests, feeling a deep loneliness. They stand up and head back out into the wilderness. Ending Cutscene (Ending 3/3, Karmatic Ending)The Guardian is enveloped by the golden liquid. Their worry and burden ease off their shoulders.
