corynthian monarchists and communists alike are quite puzzled with this instant turn of events in velusia, how the HECK is a revolution just going to take them over in a day if they supposedly had fierce support, especially since they apparently had beforehand implied themselves to be extremely powerful military-wise. This has resulted in the conclusion that Corynth has heavily over-estimated the military capacity of Velusia. Additionally, an interesting turn of events occurred in the insurgency; a column of communist insurgents was ambushed during while they were resting. After a period of fierce, disorganized fighting, loyalist forces broke the column, capturing, killing, or wounding most of its personnel, while some remnants managed to flee in disarray. Although a very big onslaught for the guerillas, it was not a decisive or even really a major victory for the loyalists, because this was still estimated to be merely a fraction of the insurgents, and this victory didn't affect the morale of the well-motivated guerillas much, other than the column they just destroyed Other than that, no progress has been made in the insurgency. tldr: corynth is confused by how velusia just falls seemingly instantaneously, some insurgents die, but no progress in the insurgency
