An enigmatic figure in command of the largest standing military in the galaxy: the Stellar Defense Force. The SDF has had a long partnership with the Galactic government, but is ultimately an independent entity. While Admiral Talis herself rarely makes public appearances, her forces wait at every hyperspace relay, every spaceport, every station, every galactic choke point, in the name of surveillance and security. Her efforts are to thank for the recent crackdown on space piracy and reductions in terrorism. Some "nudges" involving orbital bombardment threats have deposed unpopular regimes, but many of her actions seem to serve the military itself, consolidating power, ensuring their monopoly on security, and labeling militias and mercenaries as threats to the galaxy.
