Try the remix tree: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/733338490/remixtree Those pesky barrels are back with a medieval twist against the crenellated stone wall of a regal castle! Starting from the bottom, the climbers must sprint across all four floors & ascend towards the chequered goal in order to gain 'wins' and increase the difficulty. It's easier said than done, as all sorts of barrels are constantly rolled out across the platform & down to the bottom, which the player must jump over to avoid bumps, squishes, KOs, and other crazy effects. The climbers can use ladders to help them reach the top quicker, but barrels can tumble down them and get in the way of that. The higher the difficulty, the faster barrels will roll out. If our daring crew takes too long to reach the top, the difficulty will decrease to make it easier. That being said, will they be able to reach the gruelling maximum Difficulty 10.0?! We'll have to wait and see. Hover over a character to see their name and amount of wins. If the thumbnail appears while the project is still running, click/tap it to hide it. Please note that the layering may be inaccurate at certain points... ==== HOW 2 REMIX ==== Want to add more players climbing the castle? Follow these instructions carefully to get them in: 1. Scroll down below these instructions & read the rules! Don't proceed until you have. 2. Comment "Remixing..." to notify others, then click the green 'Remix' button at the top-right corner. 3. Create a duplicate of the "Player0" sprite. (right-click the sprite on the sprite list, then click "duplicate") 4. Create your character! Replace every costume in the duplicated sprite with your character, replace all "Voice" sound clips (at the bottom of the sound list) with your character's voice, & set their name, Run-animation and sound-amount settings. If you wish, you can also change their Footstep & Jump sounds. 5. Test your project &, if you like the result, either continue to add more characters or share it! 6. Modify the title to match the current remix number & amount of climbers. You're also allowed to add characters to the thumbnail & add more music tracks. ==== RULES ==== Only , , , , , , and are allowed to break these rules. Rules marked with a (!) can ONLY be broken by , nobody else! (!) 1. Remember REMIX ETIQUETTE: Comment "Remixing..." in the comments before starting a remix so people know not to accidentally split the remix tree's branches. If you don't intend to make a new remix branch, then don't remix if someone has commented "Remixing...". (!) 2. DO NOT BREAK SCRATCH'S COMMUNITY GUIDELINES (SCG), so nothing too scary, gory or vulgar!! (!) 3. Don't add or remove anyone from the breaking rules list without permission. Furthermore, don't delete any of these rules or instructions & don't completely change the project title either. 4. Don't delete or ruin anything you didn't make, unless to fix glitches, errors or rule-breaks, delete unused scripts, or (only if you're a rule-breaker) to add a new feature to the game. 5. Don't make your characters too large, that would make it hard to see or make them too inaccurate compared to their hitbox. I suggest scaling your character assets IN THE COSTUME EDITOR to match the size of the other characters before making your other costumes. 6. I don't recommend adding any singular characters that appear to be 2 separate characters (EG: Mario & Luigi both as 1 player), unless they are stuck together with no feasible way to physically detach them. 7. Don't delete any music tracks unless they break the SCG. If you don't want to listen to a certain song or genre, utilize the "audio exemption" functionality to make sure you can't. 8. On the topic of music, please also refer to the Music comment's recommended music limit so this project's file size doesn't bloat too quickly. 9. You can add yourself to the thumbnail, but please don't delete any characters off it (unless they must be removed due to breaking the rules) or completely change it altogether. 10. If you are part of the "breaking rules" list, you're allowed to add a new rule if needed. Remember to add it to both the RULE RECAP comment and the project's instructions! Make sure you double-check these rules in the thumbnail just before you share the project. Don't let your remix be UNOFFICIALIZED by broken rules, or else it'll likely be abandoned. ==== LIST OF BARREL TYPES ==== https://justpaste.it/BURG-BarrelCastle-BarrelTypes
Just so you know, this will be my last remix of Barrel Castle... unless things go REALLY wrong further up the tree & need desperate fixing. This remix was mainly just for me to port over a bugfix to an error that'd existed since the initial release, hence why my only new player is a recolour of an existing one. Just in case you want to fix the bug I came to fix in your OWN remix, here's a tutorial: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/767700054/ And while I'm at it, an earlier tutorial on how to fix a different, less severe bug: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/761458213/ ==== ME'S DONE THESE THINGS ==== - Introducing Beepboxer! He may just be a recolour of Boomboxer done so I can add an actual player of my own in this remix, but he's not all the same - his poses & voice-clips have an even "crazier" vibe to them than Boomboxer's. - I have also readded Sonic (with a few small differences) from an alternate remix branch by @Monkeymono2019, as I felt a bit sorry for them being skipped over. I've given him some new sound effects straight from his very first game on the Sega Megadriv- er, Genesis! (this includes the Jump sound, which @ZYellow is exempt from hearing) -- I might've given him his Sonic CD voice-clips (some of which were unused in the final game) too... --- Also, I wanted to remove the transparent blue boxes from some of his costumes, but found out they are built into the sprite images themselves, and so they have to stay. ---- Also also I must admit... I am not much of a Sonic fan. I'm much more into the MARIO. UPDATE 30/11/2022: I'm sorry I couldn't remove those transparent boxes, ZYellow..... I think I'll have to fix this in ANOTHER remix now. - Some fixes to players which had been added in earlier remixes... LEAH: - Her player name has been corrected from "Liam" to "Leah". - Removed, from her Fall costume, a stray duplicate of Liam's behind her. - Moved her KnockedDown costume to the left a bit more - previously I felt it was edged too close to the right. - Added a comment reminding everyone of @ZYellow's custom-sounds exemption into her code (she uses the same Jump sound as Liam) -- payper leeah RUKE: - Aligned his "KnockedDown" and "Squished" costumes closer to the floor - the former is also shifted more to the left, and the latter is flatter 'cus for the matter, it looks better. - Centered his KO! costume. - Had to decrease the volume of the censor in his Dismay voice - previously it may have been too ear-endangeringly loud! (on second thought, maybe this entire AY is ear-endangering) - Removed the unused sounds used to port in his voice-clips - it's a mighty good thing I caught this when I did as one sound name had a swear word left in it! PENNA: - Removed the sprites used to port her into the project to cut down on unnecessary assets. Other than that I'd say she's all good. STICKY: - Moved his run-cycle costumes more to the right - unlike Ruke's similar leaning, I felt Sticky was a bit too far to the left for the hitbox to work with him. - Slightly moved down his KnockedDown costume. I'd say this is for extra consistency with his Stand costume...? - Removed an unused recording of his Triumph voice. ======== - Implemented the fix for the Star-Goal-Softlock into the internal-player-code sprite. Yep, this is the reason why I made this remix. -- I was also going to port in the Max-Win-Lock fix, but discovered that was already in place. NEW MUSIC TRACKS: GAMEPLAY (4): Inside the Claw Machine [GENESIS], Inside the Claw Machine [SNES], Canning Factory, McCallister's Mansion No star-power loops though. - I felt like I had to make "Here I Come" MUCH quieter than it was before - I hadn't even heard it in gameplay, just in the editor was enough for me to know it was TOO NOISY! Credit to all, including @PinkyRosie2022 for the previous remix, SEGA for being the original creators of Sonic the Hedgehog, @-Rex- for PTE++, @ZYellow for many things that originally helped bring this AY-minigame to life, and everyone else who has made remixes on this remix chain! Gracias!
