press space to see it compared to a human! decided not to make a vector model for this one, just because i think using procreate gives me more freedom to sketch many different ideas! i was almost gonna make a "monkey-stegosurus" but i think this niche makes much more sense, dromeosaurs would more likely fill that niche since so many species are arboreal already. (i'll probably make that species next though :0 ) Nickname: rabbit stegosaur Scientific name: huayangosaurus cuniculus Niche: grazer, herbivore, prey Diet: various different grasses and low lying plants Notes: these are based off the ancient genus huayangosaurus due to their small size These tiny stegosaurs are very rabbit like, hence their nickname and species name (which is the same as the European rabbit) they use their large hind legs to hop and can do so quite fast, though not as fast as modern rabbits due to their spikes and plates and lower metabolism. they are only 0.6 meters tall (not including armour plates) strangely for a dinosaur, they are mostly cold-blooded, only increasing their metabolism when stressed. they have retained back plates to regulate their temperature, and their spikes for defence if they get caught. their tails have been greatly reduced due to their posture, as a long tail with spikes would get in the way of hopping. they live in large groups similar to rabbits, and use their strong forearms to dig. these burrows give them shelter from predators like small dromeosaurs
