Hello! I've seen a few of these questionnaire-type things around, so I decided to make my own! These are just intended as a fun way for artists to share more about themselves and their work, no pressure! :] - To answer, remix and replace my art and answers with your own. ..also what do I name the little creature?? - His name shall be Jonnathan. I like the name Jonnathan lol QUESTIONS: 1. To start off, how long have you been creating art for? · Since 2020 was when I really got into art because I was really bored and I've been drawing ever since! 2. Do you consider yourself a beginner artist? · Kinda. I'm very skilled at specific things but I'm very limited in my resources and still have a lot to learn. 3. How often do you draw? · I kinda go in and out of the mood for drawing. I tend to hyper-focus on other things and then go back to drawing and then hyper-focus on something else. So it depends. I could draw for like 15 hours or 30 minutes. Like 0-5 times a day if I'm lucky. 4. What mediums do you have experience with? · pencil/paper, digital, polymer clay 5. What's your favorite medium? · Rn its digital but I still really love pencil paper. I go back and forth. 6. What was the last thing you created/drew? · The last thing I drew was some cat designs/character sheets. for something I might make with a friend. 7. What's your favorite thing to draw? · Cats and my persona, but I want to expand my palette some more, like dragons or sm. 8. Favorite color / color combination? · Orange/Brown combos, like fall leaves and stuff. 9. Least favorite color / color combination? · Blue/yellow, I hate that combo with a burning passion. 10: What, in your opinion, is a feature that defines your artstyle? · I'm not really sure, I don't have anything unique I do ig, I just kinda draw lol. 11. Do you prefer digital or traditional art? · Digital rn, but I tend to do traditional for sketches and random ideas. I use digital when I want to post stuff. 12. Do you flip your canvas, if you draw digitally? · Not often but every now and then. I don't really care all that much, if there's something wrong I tend to notice and fix it anyway so I don't really need to. 13. Vector or Bitmap? · Bitmap, this may seem dumb, but vector tends to make me very frustrated and I can't draw in vector. 14. What's your favorite digital art app [and brush]? · Maybe Kleki or Artrage. On Artrage, my favorite brush is the ink pen. 15. How do you protect your art from theft? · I tend to write my name on my art but I'm not big enough for people to do that yet :/ so I don't worry about it to much 16: Do you allow recoloring of your work? Tracing? · No, even if it's allowed by Scratch guidelines, people don't understand how much time it takes to draw the things we do, so when that does happen, its a sign of disrespect to the effort and time I have put into making my art the best it can be. It's sad even the Scratch Team doesn't understand that. 17. Are you okay with people reposting your original art with credit? · Maybe, it depends on what it's for. And never on a different website. 18. Do you feel comfortable with people referencing your art? How heavily? · If it's their own drawing of one of my OCs or my persona, then I'm cool with it! As long as they give credit and ask perms. 19. Do you have a main OC / persona? Who are they? · Yes! She's on the thumbnail! Her name is Skye! I love her so much lol, I also had an OC a loooong time ago called Deer, and I changed her to Deerleaf, who is an OC from Warriors (yes I'm into the series a little bit, I'm moving on tho) but I really like her.
QUESTIONS [continued]: 20. Halfway there- how many OCs do you have? · Too many, right now I think it's around 150-ish, there's probably more now. 21. Do you draw fanart? If so, for which fandom[s]? · Yes! Warriors obv and Stardew Valley, I want to start doing fanart for Undertale, Hollow Knight, Zelda, or maybe Wings of Fire, I really wanna draw some dragons lol 22. Name an aspect of art that you're really good at. · I'm pretty good at proportions and spacing between body parts and stuff. 23. Name something you'd like to improve on in your art. · I wanna learn how to shade, I can shade on paper but not at all on digital, so that would be fun to improve on. 24. What are your favorite and least favorite parts of your artistic process? · I really like doing line art and figuring out my color palette for coloring in, and I hate sketching digitally because I always tend to restart my sketches too early or give up on the sketch, but traditionally I am fine with sketches. 25. Who or what inspires you? · Tbh, I write stuff, and then I wanna draw what I write. So I technically inspire myself a lot. 26. Name 3 [or more!] of your favorite artists. 1: Scott Christian Sava on his respective social media (I can't put them on scratch, but you can look him up), he is an amazing artist who can really capture the emotions in his artwork and the people in them, and he is just really amazing with what he does. 2: Some of my family members, they are amazing artists and I really love them and their art. My siblings and dad especially are just really artistic and I aspire to be as great an artist as they are. 3: @stardewmess on scratch, I like their Stardew Valley animations and they just have a really good artstyle. 27. Is there an artist that you think deserves more recognition? Who? · All the artists I follow! 28. Are you into animation? · YES! I have done some animations but I didn't post them, I have some old animations on my old account tho. 29. Are you considering art as a future career or part-time job? If you have something else in mind, what is it? · Maybe, I want to be an author and I'm hoping I can include my art in my books. If that never happens I might teach, but I'm not sure. 30. Do you take [or have you taken] art classes? If so, what kind? · Nope, self-taught! 31. What tips or advice would you offer to a beginner artist? · From a semi-beginner artist, I would say just try your best. You're not gonna be perfect automatically. It takes a while to get the hang of it, so find some artists you like and learn from them! Look at some tutorials on youtube for things like hands, proportions, and other artsy stuff, and just have fun! You'll get the hang of it, I know I did! 32. Do you listen to anything while you draw? If so, what? · Yes, either Youtube or Spotify. 33. Do you sell your art online, in person, or at all? · Nope, I feel like I need more skill to do online commissions and I have nobody to sell my art to in person, the fandoms I'm in are considered very niche and nerdy from my school. 34. What are your go-to art materials? · Pencil and paper tbh, I also have my touch screen school computer lol. 35. Do you prefer drawing humans or animals? · See, I love both, but I'm better at drawing animals. So, animals are kinda my go to, I do draw humans a little bit tho, I might post some of my human art stuff. 36. Painting or sculpting? · Sculpting ig, I don't really paint and its been a while since I used clay. 37. Who is your favorite classical artist? · I don't have one. 38. Do you prefer realism, semi-realism, or cartoon? · Semi-realism and cartoon. I haven't been a fan of realism when it comes to my art, I just really prefer drawing more fun, cartoony stuff with realistic elements. 39. What is your favorite art piece [by another artist]? · My favorite art piece from another artist has to be this, it was an animation made for a map I was gonna make, but I didn't get enough entries (it's still open technically tho, so go join) https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/589753758/ this is the project. 40. Last one! What brand is your sketchbook? · It's an old notebook I got from my dad from his job, I wanted it and he didn't use it and I haven't filled it up yet. It doesn't have a brand, so I guess old Kroger notebook? Thanks for answering! CREDITS artwork by me and questions by @crow-wings 2023
