Since March I've been working quite a bit on my Mk3 Zambra that I rescued as a garage find. The most expensive part was the rear arch welding and respray. The arch I managed to get a friend to weld as my parts car had a solid one I could cut out. The paint on the other hand was super time consuming and expensive. I managed to prep the car myself so saved money there, but even then it still cost me 1400 quid to paint all the bits that needed doing. It is now almost immaculate visually (of course some bits aren't perfect, I could have spent thousands on it in that case!!). I managed to 3D print some blanks for the front wing trim, as the 'HSE' badging was on the wings still from the donor car. I didn't want the original wing indicators back on there either so 3D printed was the way to go. Painted silver and stuck in using resin. I left the non-original HSE front foglights in and the incorrect wheels on as I think it tidies the car up nicely and doesn't look too chavved out!! Other than that I haven't done too much else - a deep clean inside and out with the wet vac and power washer helped a lot. I stuck the HOSDriver .net sticker in the window as there was some great info on there that I wanted to show my appreciation for. I've stuck the car up for sale now as want to clear up some space for future projects. It has a full MOT. As of the 12/09/2023 the car has sold. I stuck it up for £2995 to try my luck and managed to get £2600 for it so extremely happy. Taking into account all the little parts etc I got for it I've managed a 5000 quid profit which isn't too bad. I'ts mostly been a labour of love however as these old HOS are lovely things to do up and enjoy.
