It is known worldwide the..."rough" relations between the mostly Homo Sapien Federation and Zala'iyan's...Spania taking power in Iberia help the Catalan people believe that maybe peace was possible...a fiction shattered with Infantry and Metal Rods. This war...brings up something condemned by the nation now seen as the only hope...that as long as a Zala'iyan state exists in their parasitic hold of Iberia, no peace or true liberty can be achieved...or in short, a war motivated by centuries of brutal suppression and attempts to subjugate. { The Herzegovinian Operations } Ever since the end of the 3rd Yugoslav Wars, the Protectorate of Mostar and Lower Herzegovina(The Federation brought the Italian portion of Herzegovina a while back) have operated separate from the rest of Catalonia. As a result of worries that the locals would rise up against the Federations occupation, the HFG(Herzegovinian National Guard) was forced to operate in the region. However the local authorities were surprisingly compliant with the Catalan presence. The HFG meanwhile was transferred to the Monstar Governance. Mostar kept the local forces active, its distance from the mainland making it always a threat to Italian, Alpine or even Uman invasion. With the first news of aggression in Valencia and the naval landings in the Balearics, the HFG was set to an immediate mobilization towards the coast, in which the Patrian Landing Force had already made a fairly large beachhead. Being the only front to be able, the guard spread out and upon the Patrian forces reaching Trebinje the Guard ambushed the Spanian. Now This is not in the slightest an easy fight for the guard. Even with the Catalan knowledge of Anti-Drone warfare, it is at most, very primitive. Leading to the largest cost of life in the Herzigovinian Guard to be as a result of drone strikes during battle. { The Homeland Front } As Patria knows, the Catalan homeland is very underprepared for any wars. Limited conscription was introduced upon the invasion of Naples, but it being a Far-Right state and just general trust of Spania compared to Madrid halted preparations from as grand as they could have been. Within the confirmations of attacks across Catalonia, the immediate mobilization of the reserves is ordered as a result of order 219-IA. 219-IA is a now repurposed version of preparations for a 3rd Catalan-Madridiyan war, however it was not rolled into effect due to the wars incredibly short timeframe upon NASM intervention into Madrid and the restoration of the Spanish Government. Basically, the mobilized forces are to reinforce the key positions leading up to Zaragoza, Barcelona and several other minor towns in that region. The reserves upon completing their deployment will deploy to the front line and support the National Liberation Army and Catalan National Guard in the homeland of Aragon and Catalonia. The Balearic Islands are abandoned, local guards and militia personnel are told to evacuate as many of them as they can into the secret facilities located in the mountains of Mallorca. However, other instructions also include the holding of Palma. Leading to the resistance in the Balearic's to not be able to gather to the best of its abilities. The Spanian troops cutting off Bay of Biscay access is a major problem, it will take some time before the army will be able to mobilize the reserves and new recruits. The current forces are focused only on Catalonia, Valencia and Aragon, leading that part of the front to be open… But Spanian forces will face resistance if moving forward. You see, the tech Spania stole was our Nanobots and that seems to be it. The nation still holds 2 cards to play, the UGV’s and the Comet. The UGV(Unmanned Ground Vehicles) are the only unfunded portion of the Catalan army during the Interwar period. They are one of the most valuable portions of the army, and Catalonia is leading it as it for some reason isn’t a global trend. As drone warfare is the larger focus in robotics. There are 5 different kinds of UGV’s used by the army. The Tak-1, is the first model and is a smaller 4 wheeled truck like based that contains a basic Catalan machine gun. It is the main and most used model, the only other of mention is the Wellingso-Arma84. This is a larger model that has a basic AT gun strapped to its base. Imagine it as flatter version of the IRL Ukrainian Phantom with an anti-tank rifle equip to fire .50 MG’s. Operators of these hide off in off the fronts and work to ambush advancing Spanian infantry but especially Tanks, Armoured Cars and Tankettes. Now they are a holder, and are only in place to maintain a force until the real troops can arrive. The Comet is the Catalan AA missile fired from lines to strike slow bombers and jets.
The Comet is used often and by experienced teams, one of the greatest advantages against Spania. More on that, the Spanian forces have never interacted with the Comet as Madrid has the aerial officers who have interacted with it and pilots who faced it most likely died in the massive nuclear bombing used by Madrid in the 3rd Madridiyan-Catalan war. Something else to stress is the Catalan average weapons, they are much more valuable. As I have explained in the earlier projects, the Catalan weapons fire a different type of bullet and fire more rounds, the Type-14 Assault Rifle is capable of the suppression of an early 21st century suppression team.
