Beyond this, ships are continually becoming more fuel efficient as fuel is becoming more prevalent thanks to increasingly lower restrictions on wormhole travel as tensions with Jansan die down, but the Sol Blockade remains in place to monitor activity and to prevent an immediate Gem or foreign incursion. More recently, drone advancement has been coming along nicely (and I decided I needed a vector that wasn’t just a recolor), with drones now having enhanced sensor systems and further enhanced HEMP SDs, which can now condense several energy sources to be used as weaponry. NASM drones use the spikes you can see for various sensory purposes, from infrared to light sensory. The HEMP dish itself is also very versatile, being used for basic HEMP blasting to shut off opposing technology to being used for sonar, or even for ground-piercing EMP blasts, with newer models capable of condensing plasma and using the rod as a conductor for blasting high-velocity plasma via the dish. Regardless, drones still maintain their unison activity with soldiers as both scouts and front-lines men, and retain their Hubbard chipping and morals to uphold the values of the NASM to a tee, not targeting civilians and maintaining humanitarian causes (unlike certain OTHER drones of OTHER countries…) Finally, the NASM’s policy on not sharing technology unless absolutely necessary is upheld by these drones, as they can explode on command by overloading their energy sources and acting as kamikaze drones if need be. Hailrh. (Also note that their consciousness can be transferred back to local centers or backed up in nearby other drones, so they have no existential need to worry about “dying” and such. Soldiers are brainchipped though so they face less issue about dying as well, though for separate reasons.) Finally, the NASM continues to advance their plasma weaponry and such by using the models of both the Dominion and their predecessor’s flamethrower rifles, advancing high-velocity plasma weapons even further. They have begun getting mass produced and are now used by the vast majority of soldiers, and largely consist of a rifle-esque base to support a large heat mitigation compartment, with a powerful energy source like solar packets or antimatter. These rifles can be used to fire pure shots of high-velocity plasma, which can burn anything in their sight and move closer to the speed of light. They exist as fairly accurate models, but smaller models have also been created with less power in a pistol-esque form for more general usage. Both are standard issue for NASM voluntary forces, but soldiers are allowed to bring their own gear if they wish. Regardless, advancements are constant and the NASM has never lost its thought for forward movement, regardless of their status as post-accelerationist.
